Scone.nz started out as a way for the founder Jayden and his colleagues to keep track of the best places to get a scone when heading out for their morning coffee.
He’s been a part of the news, and the modern fabric of the new Ōtautahi Christchurch.
So when he asked someone to take over the running of Scone.NZ in 2025, I thought, why not? I mean, it’s pretty cool to have a site that crowdsourced something tasty from across the city.
I quickly rebuilt the site based on an open source map and added some extras like the best scone recipes on the internet and a crowdsourced price tracker a.k.a. the new semi-official average scone price of New Zealand.
Next steps are to revitalise the social channels and get the newsletters pumping… maybe even make it into a commercial venture, who knows!
