Knock down your arial.
Bop Spotter is a cool little project where someone set up a box in San Francisco to listen to and try to detect the tunes people play in cars, on boomboxes – the tunes that echo out to the world.
Inside the box is a crappy Android phone, set to Shazam constantly, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It’s solar powered, and the mic is pointed down at the street below.
Take a listen and hear the sounds of nature. Urban nature.
Shoutout to Nikhil, Raffi and Shihao for advice/help building the project! And thanks to MSCHF for design inspiration.
